Launch of pilot program in Uruguay's prison system

Bruce McManus has shared news from our counterparts in Uruguay that the nation has launched an innovative pilot program providing community-assisted release--similar to probation and parole in the United States--to qualifying prisoners in Uruguay. An article on the program appears in El Pais, a leading daily newspaper in the country. This is the culmination of more than three years of exchanges of people and expertise.
